ELLICOTT CITY, MD – Howard County Executive Allan H. Kittleman has announced an important milestone in his initiative to improve public transportation for residents. With the arrival of six new fixed route buses placed into service this month with the Regional Transportation Agency of Central Maryland (RTA), more than half the fleet serving county riders has been replaced in the last 16 months.
ELLICOTT CITY, MD – Howard County Executive Allan H. Kittleman will hold a media briefing to discuss public transportation improvements. Kittleman will issue a progress report on modernizing the fleet, improving bus stops and bus routes, and implementing new policies and technologies to enhance customer service and experience.
ELLICOTT CITY, MD – The Kittleman Administration continues to make progress on its Community Resources Campus located on Patuxent Woods Drive in Columbia. In two weeks, four human service agencies will move to the campus – the Department of Community Resources and Services (DCRS), Department of Housing and Community Development (DHCD), Office of Human Rights (OHR) and Community Action Council of Howard County.
Effective July 1st, 2018: current RTA Route 501 will continue to serve Columbia Mall to Arundel Mills Mall. A FREE Shuttle called the “County Connector” will provide service from Arundel Mills Mall to BWI Airport. For questions and timetable information please call: 410-859-1000 or click here.
Beginning July 1, people age 60 and older will ride free on Regional Transportation Agency buses serving Howard, Anne Arundel and Prince George’s counties.
