Effective Nov 13, 2022: RTA makes service changes to routes, stops, and schedules

On November 13, 2022, RTA implemented several changes to bus routes, stops, and schedules. The changes are intended to minimize redundancies between routes while increasing frequency and service hours in certain areas. The following summarizes these changes.

ROUTE	MAJOR HIGHLIGHTS
Route 301	Departs at the top of the hour instead of 25 minutes after the hour. Provides service along Main Street in Laurel. UM Laurel Regional Hospital transferred to Route 302. No Saturday service.
Route 302	Departs at the top of the hour instead of 25 minutes after the hour. Provides single routing that operates seven days a week between Laurel, Muirkirk, Beltsville, and Greenbelt. Beltsville gains five additional days of service, and Old Baltimore Pike / Muirkirk Rd is served daily instead of only on weekdays. Service along Mulberry St and around the Laurel Lakes Shopping Center will be transferred to Route 502.
Route 401	Extends evening service.
Route 402A	Renamed to Route 402.
Route 403	Extends weeknight service.
Route 404	No changes.
Route 405	No changes.
Route 406	Adds Merriweather Post to the route.
Route 407	Extends weeknight service.
Route 408	Extends weeknight service.
Route 409	No changes.
Route 414	Remains out of service.
Route 501	Extends weeknight service.
Route 502	Adds additional service to Contee Rd, expanding the number of riders that can travel to/from Maryland City on a single ride. Serves the Russett Green Walmart in both directions on the weekend pattern instead of only in the inbound direction toward Laurel Towne Centre. Transfers portions of discontinued 302 service along Mulberry St and around the Laurel Lakes Shopping Center to route 502.
Route 503	Provides service on Old Sandy Spring Rd, Van Dusen Rd bidirectionally, and Cherry Ln to/from Towne Centre Laurel. Provides historic Savage and North Laurel hourly connection to retail in the City of Laurel.
