Help us improve the RTA’s Fixed Route and Paratransit System!
The Regional Transportation Agency (RTA) is forming a Riders’ Advisory Council to create a forum and voice for riders including residents, workers, students, seniors, and persons with disabilities. The Council will be able to talk directly to RTA management and to representatives from Anne Arundel County, Howard County, Prince George’s County, and the City of Laurel.
Riders’ Advisory Council
The Riders’ Advisory Council (RAC) is a committee that is established to receive input from riders on operational and accessibility issues that affect the quality of public transit service in the Regional Transportation Agency’s (RTA) transit service area and to provide this input to the RTA Commission1, to the RTA, and to the Parties2.
The intent of the RAC is to provide a forum and voice for the RTA’s grassroots ridership, including residents, workers, students, seniors, and persons with disabilities.
The Chair of the Riders’ Advisory Council is a non-voting member of the RTA Commission. The RAC should provide a report at each Commission meeting concerning its activities recommendations.
1 The Commission is the Central Maryland Transportation & Mobility Commission. Commission members are appointed two representatives from each of Anne Arundel County, Howard County, Prince George’s County, and the City of Laurel. The Commission is responsible for advancing the jurisdictions cooperative efforts to maintain an efficient and effective coordinated regional bus system in central Maryland.

The Riders’ Advisory Council is established in the Central Maryland Transportation & Mobility Commission’s bylaws.
